Installation Guide: Mounting the Honeywell Doorbell Backplate
Follow these simple steps to correctly mount the new backplate for your Honeywell DCP311, DCP511, or DCP911 doorbell.
Step 1: Remove the old doorbell
If the doorbell is still attached, press the tab at the bottom with a flathead screwdriver to release it.
Step 2: Remove the old backplate
Unscrew the existing backplate from the wall or doorframe and remove it.
Step 3: Unpack the new backplate
Check that all necessary components are included before starting the installation.
Step 4: Attach the new backplate
Position the new backplate in the desired spot on the wall or doorframe and carefully screw it into place.
🔹 Tip: Do not overtighten the screws to avoid damage. Preferably use a manual screwdriver or an electric screwdriver with a low torque setting.
Step 5: Attach the Doorbell
Firmly click the doorbell into place on the new backplate.
🎉 Done! Your doorbell is now correctly installed.
Having trouble with the installation? Try this first:
Before reaching out to us, check the following points:
✅ Verify you have the correct doorbell model
Are you using a doorbell from the DCP311, DCP511, or DCP911 series? The model number may be slightly longer, but that’s fine. Each backplate is tested with these models before packaging.
✅ Check the battery cover
Make sure the battery cover is fully aligned. If it’s slightly tilted, the doorbell may not click into place properly.
✅ Remove dirt or debris
Ensure there is no dust, dirt, or old parts inside the backplate. The two hooks in the center must fit precisely into the doorbell. If a piece of the old backplate is still inside, the new one won’t click in correctly.
